News Update from the Mayor

August 5, 2022


Hello.  This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update. 


Tenafly had 22 new COVID cases this week.  Last week there were 26 new cases.  There were no COVID deaths reported.


At the Nature Center you can meet a live animal and explore your creative and crafty side this Saturday, August 6th at 2:00 pm! After an up close visit with one of the Nature Center's Animal Ambassadors, we'll utilize our imaginations and create an artistic version of our new animal friend. A perfect activity for both adults and children age 4 and up who are looking to explore their artistic side. Register today for Crafty Critters at


This coming week we have two fabulous concert shows in our Summertime Concert series. The first is Tuesday, August 9thfeaturing the Screaming Orphans, who are returning to Tenafly from Ireland with their feel good Celtic rock. And on Thursday evening, August 11th is Rini, featuring Indian Electronic Dance music.Bring a lawn chair, pick up dinner from one of Tenafly's restaurants and enjoy two evenings of great music. See you in Huyler Park on Tuesday and Thursday night at 7 pm.


Next week, on Wednesday, August 10th at 6:00 pm,the Senior Center is hosting a Men’s Night for men over the age of 55. Join us for pizza and darts! Call the Senior Center at 201-569-2159 to register.


Registration is open now on Community Pass for boys Lacrosse Clinic 3rd to 8th grade and Kindergarten to 2nd grade coed lacrosse clinic.  The Recreation Fall Program Guide will be available August 15th on the Borough website.  


It's Week Six of the Library Summer Reading Program!  Congratulations to the 372 readers who completed 4,662 books!  There are only two weeks to go, but you can still register and earn prizes from the Tenafly Library Friends. Visit for details.


The Englewood Historical Society is asking for assistance to help move and preserve the historic Englewood House located on the Tenafly and Englewood border at 509 Engle Street. Please visit the Society’s website at to learn more about this cause and opportunities to support the preservation.
