News Update from the Mayor

January 14, 2022

Hello.  This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Since last week, there have been one hundred thirty new reported virus cases in Tenafly.

Please remember that we strongly urge you to please wear a face mask when indoors shopping and visiting businesses.

Tenafly Seniors, the Senior Center is up and running. Please check the website for an updated newsletter.

Prior to the library reopening to the public on January 24th, you can continue to order items and pick them up in the library lobby.  Call the library or visit for details.

This coming Monday is the Martin Luther King Day holiday. Borough offices and the Recycling Center are closed on Monday.

Trash pickup scheduled for Monday will continue to take place, subject to the winter weather conditions and snow storm expected this weekend.

This Sunday the Nature Center will run one of its monthly Full Moon Hikes for adults. Come and experience a guided 1½ to 2 hour walk, approximately 1½ miles, along the Nature Center trails. This peaceful hike encourages reflection, and a connection with nature that allows hikers to experience the trails after dark. Register for this fun outdoor experience at

Save the date, because the Recreation Department is presenting a ‘Sweetheart Skate’ at the Ice Rink on Sunday, February 13th.  Celebrate your sweetheart with a skate, music, refreshments, s’mores, photos, giveaways & more!  Registration is open now on Community Pass.

Please enjoy your weekend!
