Friday, January 7th at 2:00 PM - Balance Center Presentation 

Balance & Dizziness Center in Palisades Park will be offering free fall prevention screenings to our members. The presentation takes about 10 minutes and the screening takes 5 minutes per person. You must pre-register for this screening.

Friday, January 14th at 1:00 PM - Happenings from 1955 

The polio vaccine is successful. The Montgomery, Alabama Bus Boycott and Rosa Parks. Emmett Till is murdered. America becomes involved in the Vietnam conflict. Disneyland opens and McDonald's serves its first hamburger in Des Plaines, Illinois. Come listen to Evan Weiner give this entertaining talk.

Filmmaker, George Lucas, combined the ideas of the scholar Joseph Campbell and the theories of Carl Jung and brought them to light in Star Wars. How can a mythological journey teach us lessons of life? How can a series like Star Wars reflect themes of religion, philosophy, history and mythology? What truths are revealed? Held throughout the world on Burns Night (or day) a traditional Burns supper is an evening event that celebrates Robert Burns’ life and work. Sign up early for this lunch. $10.00 per person. This is an interactive event. Traditional Scottish foods will be served. Longtime member of the TSC Jane Cornet will be hosting this event.
