Friday, March 3 1:00 Frank Sinatra Impersonator “Swinging as Sinatra!”  - Senior Center 

Join us for a fun-filled musical celebration that recreates the magic of “The Voice” and is as close as you can get to hanging out in the front row at the Copa!

Tues. March 7 at 1:00 Coffee Klatch  - Senior Center 

The term “coffee klatch” comes from the German word, “kaffeeklatsch,” which translates to coffee (kaffee) + gossip (klatsch). It refers to a group of friends getting together over a cup of coffee. Join us once a month for this casual gathering.

This is a series of classes of introduction to American style MahJong for the brand new player to someone looking for a refresher and tips and strategy. Cards will be available for purchase ( limited amount). You must register for this class. 

Thurs. March 9 at 2:00 Northeast NJ Legal Services - Senior Center

Come learn what this service has to offer. Northeast NJ Legal Services provides free legal assistance to eligible residents of Hudson, Bergen and Passaic Counties. Come learn how they can help you.

Wed. March 15 at 1:30 Grief Counseling - Senior Center 

This group will provide emotional support, validation and education about grief and loss. All are welcome to share stories or receive support through laughter and tears. Remember there are many examples of loss that don’t necessarily involve death. Unicity Healthcare sponsors this group every third Wednesday of the month.

Monday, March 20 at 2:00 - Pastries with the Police - Senior Center

Patrolman Tommy Casper is a Patrol Officer with the Tenafly Police Department. Officer Casper was born and raised in Bergenfield, NJ. He attended Bergen Catholic High School and graduated in 2010. While majoring in Physical Education at Springfield College in Massachusetts, he was also a member of the Springfield College wrestling team from 2010 to 2014 serving as the Captain of the team his senior year. He graduated from Springfield College in 2014. Officer Casper was a physical education teacher for two and half years at Bergen Catholic High School before eventually being hired as a full time Police Officer by the Tenafly Police Department in 2017. Since joining the Tenafly Police Department, Officer Casper has become a member of the Community Policing Unit and Patrol Division. In his free time, he enjoys coaching wrestling at River Dell High School and spending time with his wife and twin boys.

This lecture looks at the American Revolution as seen through the eyes of the “artists” who chronicled the founding of our country. Joel Farkas will be presenting this talk.

Developed specifically for senior drivers, this presentation is best described as a practical, entertaining and realistic approach to the issue of "senior drivers vs. the aging process". It takes a direct yet compassionate approach to the very sensitive subject of recognizing that someday it may be time to relinquish some of that treasured driving independence. The ultimate goal is not to take away driving opportunities of older drivers, but rather to offer suggestions on how to recognize and compensate for diminishing skills so that our seniors may remain on the roadways as safe drivers.

Exercise with Susan is BACK!!! 

Tuesday’s at 12:45 Class starts Tuesday, March 28. (This is included in exercise fee) New Location – McCandless Room (next to the Tenafly Library) Senior Exercise with certified instructor, Susan Van Valen, is an energetic mix of exercises done to a variety of rock, jazz, country, pop, R&B/soul, and easy listening music from the 40’s through the 70’s. We cover total body toning for quads, hamstrings, outer and inner thighs, lower legs, upper back, chest, shoulders, biceps, triceps, abs and lower back, neck, wrists and fingers. You will improve strength, bone density, flexibility, balance and coordination. 

Men’s Strength Training Class with Stephen – Men Only 

(at the Senior Center) Starts Friday, April 14 at 9:00 am ($65.00 for 3 months) this is a 45 minute weight class – bring your own 5 lb. weights. Come and join us for Men’s Fitness training!!! Maintain your current body strength, improve your flexibility and balance for better overall health. No time better than now to feel the best you can!!!!

Thursday, April 6 at 10:00 Improvisation is a form of acting that can help you in your everyday life in so many ways. Improv can help to boost your confidence, mood, improve public speaking skills, quick thinking/problem solving skills, and can even benefit your memory! This class will consist of different improvisation activities and memory games every week. Join us at the center every Thursday morning for a great time and a lot of laughs! (At the Senior Center)
