Before Calling
If you are calling in an emergency, try to have the following information ready:
- Appropriate entrance
- Callback number - the number you are calling from
- Chief complaint
- Exact address - apartment number
- Exact patient location
- Patient(s) age/sex/medical history
- Presence of animals
- Stay on the line until the dispatcher tells you to put down the phone, or hang up
After Calling
- Keep the phone line as free as possible
- Secure pets in another room
- Unlock the door
