TENAFLY YOUTH CENTER:

  • ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR-P/T - Tenafly Youth Center. The Center hosts after school co-ed social-recreational programs for the Borough’s middle school to high school aged residents. The candidates must be willing to work a 20-29 hour flexible work week. The schedule of work hours includes afternoons, nights, and weekends. Salary range is $11.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience. A recreational or educational degree is preferred, but not required. Computer skills are a plus. Applications can be accessed here. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS:

  • DIRECTOR/SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS – TENAFLY BOROUGH, Bergen County (pop. 15,000) is accepting applications for a Director or Superintendent in the Public Works Department.  The successful candidate will provide overall administration of a $4 million budget and will manage, plan and coordinate all municipal public works operations.  These operations include overseeing functions related to Streets and Roads, Sewers, Recycling, Shade Trees, Parks and Field Maintenance, Facilities Management, Vehicle Maintenance and Storm Water Management.  Strong leadership skills, staff supervision, interaction with labor unions, project management, communication skills (oral and written) and commitment to customer satisfaction are essential.  The successful candidate will possess at least 5 years’ experience in a DPW supervisory role and have a working knowledge of applicable purchasing laws, play an active role in operational and capital planning, and possess the ability to adapt to new programs and technologies as they emerge. Certified Public Works Manager (CPWM) certification and a college degree is required for the Director level. For the Superintendent level a college degree is preferred, but not required and consideration will be given to candidates nearing completion of Certification (within 12 months). SENIOR TRANSPORTATION:

  • BUS DRIVER -TENAFLY BOROUGH (Bergen County) has an opening for a part-time bus driver for a senior citizen minibus transportation program. All Bergen County trips originate in Tenafly by schedule. Applicants must possess a CDL Class B with a passenger endorsement, related experience, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Minimum 4 hours per workday, M-F at $17.00 per hour, no benefits.
