Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act, ” all persons newly hired by the Borough on or after September 1, 2011, shall have 1 year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. The Borough of Tenafly is seeking a driver/laborer to work within the Department of Public Works. Responsibilities include but are not limited to manual labor, recycling, road maintenance, sewers, buildings and grounds, vehicle maintenance, grass cutting and snow plowing. Applicants should be prepared to perform duties in all weather conditions and work mandatory overtime. This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.  Applicants must possess a Class “B” CDL (Class “A” preferred). Hours are from 7:00am – 3:00pm, 35 hours per week. Borough of Tenafly, Department of Recreation is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide (12:30pm-4:30pm) to assist in the organization, promotion, coordination of all recreation programs, activities, youth and adult sports, special events and leisure services. Requires 1 year minimum of experience in Recreation, or community based programming, or camps experience. Under the direction of the Director of Recreation, assists in supervising all town Park and Recreational facilities. Grooming, lining, and maintenance of Borough owned fields or the ability to learn. Assists in inspecting all Athletic and Recreation facilities in the Borough, which includes; Municipal Center Field, Seasonal leaf clean-up on fields and courts everyday/daily to reduce the risks of injury.  Assists in set-up and clean-up of all Recreation special events. Checks for field permits/badge validation/and proper usage of all town facilities, updates permit boards. Monitors litter, rules, and regulations at all sites. Reports any and all site evaluations, problems, or concerns to Director. Familiarizes self with Police Department, DPW, BOE, council members, residents, and community members. Patrols sites with town vehicles and sees to it that activities and events are going on as scheduled and in compliance. Bulk supply picks ups at stores and all other vendors.
